ARINC 404 specifies the mechanical dimensions of line replaceable units (LRUs) and their installation systems at different locations on the aircraft. LRUs are installed on specially designed trays, providing mechanical support, but also offering shock absorption, cooling, and insertion functions.
ATR is increasingly deployed in wheeled and tracked ground vehicles, and is also used for onboard applications. Usually, ATR is made of stamped aluminum plates and milled or brazed aluminum plates. The detachable front panel allows for I/O customization to meet specific application requirements and increase configurability. The ATR casing uses electrostatic dust filters, honeycomb EMI filters, and narrow screw spacing to seal each external seam to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-461. The sturdy design meets the requirements of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, and MIL-STD-901D for impact, vibration, and structural integrity.
